About the event

Would you like to learn how to make the perfect royal icing? This is the class you've been waiting for!

Bring your stand or hand held mixer from home, and all your questions, and Maven's will provide everything else. Learn how to acheive consistent results as you mix, color, and thin your icing to different consistencies. We'll discuss those pesky air bubbles, battling butter bleed, thinning your icing to various consistencies, how to color your icing to achieve different shades and cohesive palettes, and so much more! All materials to make 2lbs of royal icing other than the mixer will be provided. Our delicious vanilla bean sugar cookies in various shapes will also be available for testing out a variety of techniques and icing consistencies during class.

The hardest part about making icing is achieving consistent results. I will provide you with all the tools you'll need to sucessfully make royal icing at home just like we do in class. Each guest will receive and take home the following: (1 small stainless steel bowl, 1 small seamless spatula, 1 large seamless spatula, 1 tumbler, 1 spray bottle, 1 measuring cup, 1 bottle of Americolor white food gel, disposable piping bags, Genie's Dream meringue powder, a bottle of Watkins clear vanilla extract, a black apron, and a tote bag to carry everything home.) Food gels in various colors and baking scales will be provided for use during class.

This class is approximately 2.5 hours and is limited to 10 guests
